....in the late 70's Bavarian Motor Works delivered a most beautiful baby shark and baptized it during the 1976 Geneva Motor show. At the base of the timeless design stood its spiritual father Paul Bracq. Its christian name was 6-series, but it has become infamous under its worldwide recognized second name: Sharknose.The pointy nose overlooking a slightly retracting front was a typical style characteristic for any BMW in those days, but on the E24 more pronounced than on any other model range.
The big coupé was kept in production for more than a decade, yielding a remarkable offspring of nearly 100.000 copies of this wonderful piece of art.
Today, the Sharknose lives happily ever after.....
